The International Jazz Day is coming up and the big question as always is WHAT WILL WE WEAR!
Super excited for the Safaricom Jazz festival coming up this weekend, it’s a long weekend so you know we get to dance and be merry without a care in the world. This edition is the Kenya All Star edition. Featuring some of my favorite bands, Nairobi Horns Project, Shamsi Music, and individuals Chris Bittok, the electric Eddie Grey, the beautiful Kavutha Mwanzia all the details are on my social media and I will be posting on the day of the concert, you guys who decided to leave Nairobi for the long weekend can catch my instagram live on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully it will be sunny at the Carnivore grounds because I am ready to get down. The gates open at midday but the show starts at 2 pm so you have some time after church. You guys should get your tickets by dialing 1511 to get more information on all the amazing acts and on Ghetto Classics click here.
I feel that you don’t always have to go out and buy clothes but the first thing you can just step into your closet and figure out the key pieces that you want to style and figure out how you will work around the look to make you really stand out.
My first outfit the Ankara Gentleman is inspired by the #KenyanAllStars. If any of you have seen me at any Safaricom Jazz festival, I am usually a mess. I dance so hard and I wanted to have an outfit that would represent those African beats with a bit of a modern and POSH twist.
A great colored pair of denim jeans is always a great way to dress down and especially the white washed ones are so versatile so you can dress them up with anything. I threw on a Posh by Jay t-shirt for that casual look and threw on this delicious Ankara blazer I loved the gold accents on the blazer and the bold reds and the navy that worked perfectly with my navy Chelsea boots.
My second outfit the Jazz cat was inspired by the last Safaricom Jazz Festival I attended back in February. I honestly think that a great vest can tie together any outfit. I wanted to have a less casual look for this outfit. With the wine red mandarin collar shirt and this beautiful vest I got from suits by Kenya Stylista that really put my look together.
Two new additions to my closet which are these amazing socks from Dapper Monkey and these amazing shoes from LC Waikiki really complete this look. Lol The type of man you take to your mama’s house! Am I right?
My third outfit option Jazzy Jeff is really one of my favorites, I love! Love! Love! This star wars tee, guys if you meet me anywhere you can touch me lol well touch my t-shirt that is. I have had these turquoise pants that I bought years ago that just go perfectly with this pants and my trench coat.
With the volatile weather now, you can never go wrong carrying a jacket. Have you guys seen this meme where this guy is asking this lady about why she’s wearing a fur jacket in the summer and she wouldn’t take it off because DAH! It was her outfit. Every component in this outfit works together, I don’t think they can work alone lol so if I do wear this outfit and you see me sweating don’t hate. Just pass me a tissue and keep a dry haha.
I would love to hear in the comment section which outfit you guys liked and why. I want to hear what everyone is wearing this weekend. If you and your plus one will be matching it could be a plus. Don’t forget to grab your tickets by dialing 1511. See you all on Sunday!
